Research

Theoretical High Energy Physics

String theory, black hole physics and non-perturbative quantum field theory. Recent work deals with understanding the emergence of space in gauge-gravity duality, applications of the holographic correspondence to out-of-equilibrium problems in many body systems and universal scaling in critical quantum quench. Past work involved the physics of Hawking radiation, noncommutative gauge theories, noncritical string theory and random surfaces, matrix models for nonperturbative strings, large-N gauge theories, vortices and monopoles.
