We discuss some general results on quantum quench in 2D CFT and their holographic interpretation. These include (a) proof of subsystem thermalisation in integrable conformal models, (b) characterisation of the equilibrium state in terms of a generalised Gibbs ensemble (c) interpretation in terms of higher spin black holes, (d) dynamical entanglement and wormhole interpretation, (e) a general survey of quantum quench in free field models in arbitrary dimensions and the odd-even effect (switch between power law and exponential relaxation as one increases dimensions).
