About Us

The University of Kentucky Society of Physics Students (UK SPS) chapter is a professional and social organization for Physics majors and minors, as well as students with a general interest in physics. Each semester we host interactive presentations known as Cosmic Lunches, where professors speak about their research and provide students with the opportunity to interact outside of a traditional classroom setting. SPS also hosts an open lab day to promote education and interest in physics, and showcase the diversity of research occuring here in the Physics & Astronomy Department! In the past, we have put together group trips to local science events and physics laboratories.
