Teaching On-Line Physics Courses at

Arizona State University

This semester approximately 700 students are enrolled in

General Physics courses at Arizona State University. The

courses are delivered by the Department of Physics and

include the algebra-based and calculus-based courses that

cover by and large the subjects of Mechanics and Electricity

and Magnetism. In this talk I describe the process to put

these courses in place, show the course structure as seen by

students, discuss issues like connectivity with students and

the testing process, and present data from students

performance and evaluations.
